Itinerary
- Hampton Court Palace: Built in 1515 by Cardinal Wolsey this is a truly magnificent palace.
Here your personal guide will take you over the moat and into base court. From here you will visit the Tudor kitchens that were enlarged when Henry Vlll took control of the palace. Then your guide will take you through the best surviving Tudor hall in the country. Here you will be amazed at the size of not only the hall but at the extortionately expensive tapestries that decorate the wall and you will hear about dining at the palace during Henry Vlll’s time here. You tour then continues through the kings waiting room, the kings council chamber, the haunted corridor and the magnificent chapel.
Now it’s time to move on through clock court to the newer part of the palace built by Sir Christopher Wren for the joint monarchs William and Mary. Here your guide will take you through the kings state apartments and the kings private apartments. Time permitting, your guide will take you around some of the wonderful gardens.
